History - The Path to Success

Mature structures and genuine, living Tyrolean hospitality are the essential elements in the success story of the Kaltschmid Group. The path began with the Batzenhäusl in Seefeld, the very first hotel of the Kaltschmid family. It launched the path of Austria’s largest hotel-owner family.

In 1962, the nineteen-year old Fritz Kaltschmid took over the hotel. Ever since then, the well being of guests has been the epicenter of all his efforts. In this spirit, more and more hotels were purchased and enlarged.

Through the acquisition of Hotel Hohe Munde and the dance bar known as Tenne in 1967, the terms entertainment, fun and culinary enjoyments rose to new levels of meaning. Countless renovations and additional purchases turned the Tenne into the meeting place for all night owls; and it turned Hotel Hohe Munde into Ferienhotel Kaltschmid.

Since vacation is a highly individual and extremely personal time, the Kaltschmid family built and created vacation residences for every imaginable taste through enormous industry and dedication.
